HOW TO INSTALL A NEW BLUETOOTH ADAPTER ON WINDOWS 10

1.    Go to ‘Start.’

2.    Type ‘device manager’ in the search box.

3.    Open the ‘Device Manager’ by clicking on the top result.

4.    Find the ‘Bluetooth’ in the options.

5.    Click twice on the ‘Bluetooth’ branch.

6.    Right click on the ‘Bluetooth adapter’ that is faulty, or you want to disable.

7.    Click on ‘Disable device’ in the menu.

8.    Select ‘Yes’ to confirm.

The selected adapter will disable. Once it disables, you can proceed to install the new Bluetooth adapter.

How to install a new Bluetooth adapter on Windows 10 PC

Mostly the new Bluetooth adapter will automatically install when you connect it to your Windows 10 computer. This is the simplest and correct way to install a new Bluetooth adapter device. To install a new Bluetooth adapter automatically,

1.    Hook up the new Bluetooth adapter to your computer.

2.    Wait for some seconds. Windows 10 will detect the new connected Bluetooth adapter and start installing the drivers automatically.

3.    Allow the Windows to install the new Bluetooth completely.

Once this finishes, you can verify that the device configured correctly.

Check your new Bluetooth adapter

To determine whether your new Bluetooth adapter recognized properly, follow these steps.

1.    Go to ‘Start.’

2.    Go to ‘Settings.’

3.    Select ‘Devices’ from the settings.

4.    Open ‘Bluetooth & other devices’ from the left menu.

If a switch for turning on and off Bluetooth will appear, it means your new device was correctly added. Instead of this if you’re seeing “Add a Bluetooth or other device” option, your new Bluetooth adapter is not installed correctly. Don’t worry; you can try installing it manually. Instructions are given below to install a new Bluetooth adapter on Windows 10 manually.

Steps to install the Bluetooth adapter drivers manually

New Bluetooth adapters and devices are plug and play. There’s no need to do anything you can use them after just connecting. But, if your adapter fails to install automatically, then use these steps to install the Bluetooth drivers manually.

1.    Go to ‘Start.’

2.    Type ‘device manager’ in the search box.

3.    Open the ‘Device Manager’ by clicking on the top result.

4.    Find the ‘Other devices’ in the options.

5.    Click twice on the ‘Other devices.’

6.    Right click on the ‘Bluetooth adapter’ that is not installed, or have an error icon over it.

7.    Click on ‘Update Driver’ at the top in the menu. This opens a new Update Drivers windows.

8.    Now, select the option ‘Search automatically for updated driver software’ for “How do you want to search for drivers?” If you have a drivers CD or the drivers are stored in your PC, then you can install them by selecting another option “Browse my computer for driver software.”

9.    Wait for the Windows to search and install the drivers.

10.    If the Windows was unable to install the Bluetooth drivers, click on ‘Search for updated drivers on Windows Update’ options.

11.    Click on ‘Check for updates’ button under the Windows Update in the Settings app.

12.    When the driver updates, restart your PC.

After your PC restarts, you’ll be able to connect your Bluetooth adapter or device to your Windows 10 PC without facing any issue.
