Clean Your Fan

Just like a table gathers dust if it is not cleaned regularly, your computer can also gather dust if you do not clean it frequently due to which your computer’s fan might become noisy. However, we can quickly solve this problem by cleaning our computer’s fan. So, if your computer has become noisy then try cleaning your computer fan. To do this:

  1. Switch off your computer and remove its power cord from the power outlet.
  2. Next, remove the side panel of your CPU and clean your fan with a dry cloth.
  3. Finally, fix the side panel again on your CPU and plug in your computer’s power cord in the power outlet and see if your computer is still making noise or not.

Note: If you have a Laptop then we suggest that you take it to an expert for cleaning it because if you try to clean it yourself, then you might damage the other parts of your laptop.

Move Your PC to Different Location for Better Airflow

Sometimes your computer’s fan might become noisy due to the location at which it is placed. Why? Because when we use our computer it generates heat and if your computer is placed near let’s say near a radiator or in a closed room then your computer may have a hard time in keeping your PC cool due to low airflow. As a result, your computer might become noisy. So, make sure you only place your computer in an open place so that its fan does not heat up quickly due to low airflow.

Similarly, if your laptop has become noisy, then make sure you are not unknowingly covering your laptop’s air vent while using it.

Laptop Users: Use a Cooling Pad

If you find the idea of opening your laptop frequently to clean it scary, then you can fix this problem by connecting a laptop Cooling pad with it. A Cooling pad is an external device that has 2-3 cooling fans(usually) in it which you can connect with your laptop using a USB cable to make sure that your laptop remains cool while you are using it. So, if you have a noisy laptop right now, then try connecting it with a cooling pad to solve this problem. It will surely help you out in fixing your laptop fan.

Check Running Apps and Processes

Sometimes your computer might become noisy due to running apps or processes. For example, if you are running lots of heavy applications on it, then your computer might become noisy. Why? Because these applications use a large number of your computer resources to work correctly due to which your computer might start producing lots of heat. As a result, your computer becomes noisy. So, if your computer has become noisy, then try closing all the apps or processes that are consuming most of your computer resources. To do this:

  1. Open the “Task Manager” app.
  2. Next, identify all the apps or processes that are consuming most of your computer resources.
  3. Finally, end these processes by selecting them and taping on the “End task” button.
