Check the Microphone

Firstly, on the Taskbar, write Cortana in the Search window.
Then, press on Cortana and Search Settings.
After that, check the given below options whether it is turn on or not.
Say ‘Hey Cortana’ and view that is it responding like earlier or not.
Reply to the person whenever anyone prefers saying ‘Hey Cortana’ to see whether Cortana can respond to anyone or not.
If you wish to, try to work on Cortana when your system is locked completely.
Press on Get Started. Go through the wizard to set the microphone correctly.
Note that if there are still some problems persisting, then Windows can solve them out.

Solve issues with your MS account

If the problem is of the non-working Start menu, then this problem may be related to the Microsoft account. This issue can be solved out by signing out and signing in again. To check whether Microsoft is creating the issue do the following-

Firstly, press the Start option.
Then, press the user symbol.
After that, Log Out.
Log in one more time with your Microsoft account.
If it does not solve the problem, then do it again.

Look for updates

Firstly, in the Search window write Check for updates, on the Taskbar.
Press ‘Check for Updates’.
Then, wait till the process gets over
Lastly, restart your system.

Note: Cortana only works with some languages like English or Spanish. Luckily, it does support other languages, but for that, you need to look for updates. To know the latest list of language that it supports working with, go to MS.

Turn off anti-virus software

I suggest you go for Windows Defender rather than any third-party antivirus.

To remove the third-party antivirus program do the following steps carefully.

Firstly, in the Search window write Control Panel, on the Taskbar.
Then, in the Control Panel press on Uninstall a program.
Observe that many programs get displayed before you.
Press the antivirus program for once.
Next, tap on Uninstall.
Wait till the process gets over completely.
