3 Steps to Perform to Fix the Cannot Verify Server Identity IMAP.Gmail Error

As it happens sometimes due to some glitch in the Mail app on your iPhone and that too can be fixed easily.  Also, this post has brought you all the information to get rid of the issue without getting puzzled with the process. So, go through the instructions and enjoy your email on your iPhone. 

1. Restart your iPhone 

To start with, you need to make sure if any minute glitch is there that is preventing iOS to work effectively. And you should turn off your iPhone. 

Wait for a while, switch on the iPhone. 

Then you have to open the Mail app and check if the issue is fixed. 

Just in case you find the problem is persisting, you should continue with the second step. 

2. Delete And Add Mail Account 

By deleting your mail account on your iPhone will reset your identity certificates from your email server and you won't see the cannot verify server identity IMAP.Gmail issue. All you need is to do is following the given steps:

On your iPhone, go to the Settings app and choose the Password & Accounts section. 

Once you reach the Accounts section, you should select the email account in which you're seeing the problem. 

There you will see the Delete Account option, select that option and confirm the delete command by clicking the Delete Account once again. 

After that, you have to choose the Add Account option from the Passwords & Accounts section. Add the deleted account again. 

In this way, you will no longer worry about the IMAP.Gmail error. Also, it may happen that you still have the glitch and if it is so, you should initiate the third and final step. 

3. Disable SSL 

Generally, with the completion of the above two steps, the issue gets fixed. But the things don't turn out as it should be, you can follow the given steps to disable SSL:

Similarly, open Settings and go to the Passwords & Accounts section. 

There you have to select the mail app which is causing trouble.

And then choose the registered account. 

Further, you have to open the Advanced Settings and select the Use SSL option to disable it.
