Hawaii holidays - Top 10 hotels

Hawaii has six main islands that the tourist may visit (Big Island (Hawaii Island), Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai and Maui) and amongst these there is a varied selection of hotels and here we look at the top 10 as voted by previous customers.

Recently featured on the UK’s ‘Volcano Live’ series that was broadcast on the BBC in 2012, Hawaii’s highlights include the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, East Rift, Volcano Crater Rim and a huge selection of activities from scuba diving through to surfing or visiting the art galleries.

Top Ten Hotels in Hawaii


This 5 star resort is located in Oahu on the famous Waikiki Beach and boasts a selection of room types from Pool View, Executive and Diamond Head Suites. Boasting a private entrance the Exec. Suites have a master bedroom, spacious living area, walk-in closet, two private patios, in-room dining and a private butler service. The spa is perfect for a little pampering and three restaurants provide splendid sea views and a romantic setting. The fitness centre is popular as is the signature ‘Orchid Pool’, which is the centrepiece of this hotel.


Located on Maui the 5 star Fairmont has over 22 acres of tropical gardens and the resort sits along Polo Beach. This is an ‘all villa and oceanfront suite’ resort that boast 3 swimming pools, one of which includes a 140-foot waterslide. An adult’s only pool is welcomed by couples and honeymooners and there is a well equipped gym and spa. The luxurious villas have private plunge pools too.

Hyatt Regency Waikiki

Back to Waikiki Beach for this four star hotel that offers oversized luxury suites that are close to the Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium. The balconies of each room present views out to the mountains or sea and this resort has a stunning pool and Waikiki’s largest Jacuzzi.  The spa at the Hyatt Regency is also unbelievable spreading over 2 floors and 10,000 sq. ft.

Hyatt Regency Maui

This 4 star hotel has 40-acres of landscaped gardens that are lined by the beach and the Pacific Ocean. Over 800 well-sized rooms have balconies, Hawaiian quilt hangings, wooden furniture and views to the mountains or sea. The resort boasts a spa, golf course, private tennis tuition, rope bridge, Wi-Fi and water playground with a large lava tube slide.

Hyatt Regency

Westin Maui

Placed alongside Ka’anapali Beach the 4 star Westin is a great pick for honeymooners. Mountain and ocean view rooms have luxury touches such as extra soft towels, Heavenly Baths and Heavenly Beds. The Heavenly Spa has 8 massage rooms, 3 facial rooms, Vichy shower and hydrotherapy room. Within the hotel’s grounds are an 87,000-sq. ft. aquatic playground with 5 free form pools and a secluded adult’s only Jacuzzi and pool.

Sheraton Kauai

Following a recent 16-million dollar refurbishment, the 3 star Sheraton has beautiful surroundings and fantastic rooms and suites with all modern amenities.
