Graphite Sheet Classifications and Die Cutting

The composition of graphite flakes is mainly made up of carbon, which can be found in nature. However, they are obtained by chemical methods at high temperatures and pressure to become graphitized film. Carbon is a material that has the electrical and thermal conductivity of metal materials- it also has special properties like plasticity (similar to organic plastics), good processability for coating on solid surfaces, ultra-high thermal conductivity etc. It's been widely used in the heat dissipation industry - communication industries, medical equipment manufacturers, and notebooks come with graphite sheets towards this end as well! The main characteristics are its low weight when compared with metal products; easy processing; extremely high performance for resistance to temperature changes offered by ceramic insulation polymers or varistors - making it quite popular among electronics companies manufacturing LED substrates

The main characteristics of graphite sheets: are ultra-high thermal conductivity, easy processing, low thermal resistance, and lightweight. The thermally conductive tape has been used for a myriad of purposes, including the cooling of computer components and medical devices.

Graphite

Graphite Crystal: It has a hexagonal plane network structure and can be divided into natural graphite and artificial graphite. The former is mostly scaly and is extracted from graphite ore.

Characteristic:

1. Lubricity;

2. Small thermal expansion;

3. Good thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity;

4. Usability in a wide temperature range;

5. The chemical properties are stable and non-toxic;

6. Other characteristics: It has the characteristics of compatibility, lightweight, large plasticity, and easy processing and forming.

Natural Graphite: generally, appears like graphite schist, graphite gneiss, graphite-containing schist, and metamorphic shale.

Artificial Graphite: It is the carbon raw material (such as petroleum coke, pitch coke, anthracite, metallurgical coke, carbon black, etc.) after being calcined, crushed, sieved, mixed with a binder (mainly coal tar), and then pressed and pressed. Roasting, high-temperature graphitization, and finally processed into the required size.

Principle Of Heat Dissipation

Typical thermal management consists of external cooling devices, heat sinks, and thermal sections. One function of the heat sink is to create a maximum surface area, where heat transfer and removal can happen. With the help of graphite, this process becomes quite effective. The two-dimensional plane ensures that all components work at the temperature they are subjected to.

Product Features:

  1. It can be combined with other materials, such as metal, plastic or self-adhesive material to meet more design and needs.
  2. Excellent Thermal Conductivity: 150~1800W/m.k, which is better than metal thermal conductivity.
  3. Light In Weight: the specific gravity is only 1.0 to 1.3.
  4. Soft and easy to operate.
  5. Low Thermal Resistance: temperature resistance 400℃.
  6. High Thermal Conductivity: The graphite heat sink has excellent thermal conductivity and can be smoothly attached to any surface, no matter how flat or curved it is. It can also be cut in any shape that suits the customer's needs.

Using the moldability of graphite, we can make a graphite material into a sticker-like sheet and let it stick to the circuit board inside the phone. The graphite heat dissipation film actually plays the role of a heat conductor and evenly disperses the heat on its surface, which means it indirectly helps to dissipate some of that energy.

Processing Method of Graphite Sheet

Adhesive Processing

In order to better adhere to the IC and electronic component circuit boards, it is necessary to carry out adhesive processing on the surface of the thermally conductive graphite sheet, which can be divided into two types: double-sided adhesive and single-sided adhesive.

Lamination Processing

Some products require insulation and heat insulation in the circuit design, and the thermally conductive graphite sheet itself is conductive. At this time, the surface of the thermally conductive graphite sheet needs to be covered with a matte black film to optimize product performance.

Hemming

During the die-cutting process of graphite, the edge is easy to drop powder, and sometimes the thermally conductive graphite sheet needs to be edge-wrapped.
