The one which explains the celebration of the day of love on 14th February is that St. Valentine was a Roman priest who used to perform weddings of the Roman soldiers who were forbidden to marry. St. Valentine used to wear a ring bearing cupid on one of his fingers. This was a symbol of love according to him. This ring helped soldiers recognize him. He also handed out paper cars to soldiers to remind them of love.
