Elephant And The Rope- A Motivational Story

by Jacob James best web development company

It is a story about a man who went to a circus for enjoyment and refreshment. He accidentally saw a giant elephant that was just tied with a small rope to its front legs. There were no metal chains or cages. On seeing this he became totally confused and gazed upon those elephants for a while.

Then he thought, "Even if the elephant tried to apply a little bit of pressure, the rope could be easily broken” and they could release from this place. So, “Why are they not trying to break free at all?" Then he found the trainer and asked him “Why have these big elephants made no effort to release themselves?”

"Well," the trainer said, "These elephants are tied with the same size of rope when they were much younger and smaller. At that time it was strong enough to hold them firmly so they could not escape. Whenever they tried to escape it would pull them back. Now that they have grown up they are made to believe the fact that they cannot break it. They never even try to break free as they believe that the rope still holds them."

The man was astonished by listening to the words of the trainer. He was flabbergasted by the reality that just by believing that they could not break free, they were tied to the same place. Believing that it was not possible at all they never really tried to escape even when they grew larger and stronger.

Humans are also the same in one or the other kind. Merely by believing that we cannot do a certain thing we never try. Humans are sometimes more afraid of failure than they are afraid of accomplishing a task.

As the thought says, "The difference between a stepping stone and a stumbling block is how high we jump."

The society also plays a major role in your life just like the trainers. If they make you believe that you cannot achieve something in your life, you start inculcating that in your body and your mind. But no matter how the world interprets you and your actions, in the end, it is you who will be responsible for yourself.

Believing in yourself that you can attain the goal and become successful is the very first and important step you need to take. It is just the same, whether we take it positively or negatively. Beliefs of people are a very strong tool which makes the life of a person. It affects the thoughts as well as the actions of the person. This is the reason that children should be instilled with positivity by their parents. And this is the mindset that they will carry when they become an adult.

The mindset of children will eventually affect their actions and choices in their life. And as it is said, "Our life is made up of the decisions we make." For a better life, parents should not only provide them with the materialistic requirements but also moral necessities as it is vital for shaping the life of their children.
