Easy Method to View and Delete Stored Passwords in Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox lets you save usernames and passwords for websites securely in its Password Manager. So, when you visit any of the websites again, it fills the username and password automatically to log you in. This is also useful if you want to view the password for a specific website for which you stored for login information. The following guide will show you how to view and remove saved passwords in Firefox.

1. In order to see your stored passwords in Firefox, choose the ‘Options’ from the browser menu in order to open up the Options dialog box.

2. In the dialog box, hit the ‘Security’ option placed at the top. Under the Passwords section, click on the ‘Save Passwords’ button.

3. The ‘Saved Passwords’ dialog box shows every site for which you have stored your username and password and shows the usernames. In order to view by default hidden passwords, hit the ‘Show Passwords’ button.

4. A confirmation dialog box will appear to make sure you want to display your passwords. If you still want to see them, hit the Yes. A column related to the password will show you all your passwords.

If you want to hide the shown passwords, hit the ‘Hide Passwords’. However, if you want to delete or edit any of the shown passwords, then you can easily do by following this guide.

1. In order to remove a password from the Password Manager, choose the particular website and hit the ‘Remove’ button. If you want to delete all passwords, hit the ‘Remove All’.

Note: If you want to access the Firefox Password Manager to remove passwords, it is recommended to use a master password to your saved login information. Without a master password, anyone can easily access your account and view your passwords.

2. Open the ‘Options’ dialog box again to add a master password, and check mark the ‘Use a master password’ box.

3. The ‘Change Master Password’ window will appear on the screen. Type a master password under the ‘Enter new password’ box and then re-enter it again in the next box. Hit ‘OK’.

4. A message stating that your master password has been successfully changed window will appear, click ‘OK’ to close it.

5. In case, if you want to change password later, hit the ‘Change Master Password’ button placed on the ‘Security’ option on the ‘Options’ window.

6. Subsequently, click ‘OK’ to save your changes and close the ‘Options’ window.

Now, if you want to view your passwords, it is required to enter the master password first. However, some websites don’t let the saving of login information, so, the Firefox Password Manager will not compatible with such sites.
