CSR activities – driven by Shri B. Prabhakaran

Shri B. Prabhakaran is a first generation entrepreneur with a humble beginning and purely through his vision and conviction; he has established Thriveni Earth Movers Pvt Ltd, a leading mining company in India.

Shri B Prabhakaran has taken the company to heights of success, but after attaining success, he felt that it is his responsibility to return back to the society as well. In turn he started various CSR activities which provided mass welfare and employment opportunities to many people who find difficult to find livelihood so that they can sustain their families.

Initiatives taken as CSR responsibilities by Mr. B Prabhakaran for CSR activities through his flagship company Thriveni are as follows:

• Healthcare - We have ample number of hospitals in cities and metros, but we have hardly good healthcare facilities in rural areas, where people need the healthcare the most, so Mr B Prabhakaran has made it possible in taking these healthcare facilities to remotest areas in and around his mines. Mobile care unit has been deployed to take care of medical emergencies in remote areas. These unit come in handy for timely evacuation of critical patients and to take them to the nearby hospitals.

• OLD AGE HOME – “ANANDASHRAM” - Anandashram, led by the organization Ideal Development Agency (IDA), is an old age home, based in Banajodi near Keonjhar of Odisha. This old age home is widely known for providing care and compassion to the poor old people. It is also known for realizing the dreams of Sebati Singh, the mother figure of the poor in this location, and converting the same to reality by providing education and developments.

• SCHOOL OF REHABILITATION SCIENCE – The company has made contributions to organizations such as seva foundation and Adivasi vikash samity for running Rehabilitation centre in remote areas of keonjhar. The company also supports special education in hearing impairment to special children in the community.

• WOMEN EMPOWERMENT - The importance of women in any society is very essential to realize, so by providing them vocational training and making them self-independent in terms of earning for them and their families is a major step taken by the Thriveni company and Mr. B. Prabhakaran personally takes great interest to ensure that women are not left behind in all his welfare schemes as well.

• Roko Cancer – The Company provides team of doctors and staff members to regularly move out to organize medical camps in such areas, one team is dedicated for detection of breast cancer and diabetes.
