Common Mistakes Made By MOT Testers

by MOT Training Experts MotTrainingExperts.Com
While one is taking their MOT annual training, there are certain things that one should know. There are some common mistakes that can take place during the MOT training courses that might be conducted by your MOT testers.

Some of the mistakes are:

1. Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) and the working
Daytime Running Lamps are designed for the making of vehicles having better visibility during the daylight hours that are now becoming much common on vehicles that are of testable age. DLRs are not completely covered by manuals, so they are the items that can be tested.

These devices can be fitted at the front of the vehicle only, and can also come automatically as soon as your engine starts and is independent of any other lighting. They are incorporated within similar units because the sidelights require some care that can confuse several functions.

2. The lamps like Supplementary Restraint Systems (SRS)
While you are testing SRS MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) lamps, the motive here is to look to see if the lamp can indicate if there is any kind of fault with the system. If there is no lamp present or it is not illuminating then it might not be able to indicate the fault of the system, thus it might fail.

There are some vehicles that might also incorporate warning messages on dashboard displays and these are additional to any MIL lamps and cannot be used as a reason for rejection.

Where one can see the passenger air bags, there are also possible chances to disarm them, or they might automatically disarm where there is less or no load on the passenger seat. This can be accompanied by a lamp permanently on for highlighting if the airbag has been disarmed, this will be counted as an SRS MIL and thus no reason for rejection.

3. The View towards the rear.
While one is giving tes, the importance is given only to the examination of obligatory mirrors, or the indirect vision devices for the presence and condition. Several vehicles are having more than the mandatory number of mirrors or devices that can be fitted and this a defect might ultimately lead to failure.

Conclusion
There are many mistakes that can take place while you are giving the test by the MOT testers. Have a complete understanding of these mistakes so that you do not make them that might lead to your failure.
