Are Online Rewards Going Mobile With Everything Else?

If you’re unsure of if having a mobile-optimized website for your online rewards program, consider this:

91% of all people on earth have a mobile device

56% of all people own a smartphone

50% of mobile phone users use that phone as Internet device number one

72% of tablet owners purchase online from their tablets every week

We didn’t think so. Let’s get real for a second. Mobile computing is the future and it’s here today. In fact, mobile computing caught on 8x faster than the web did on desktops back in the ’90s and ’00s. It’s an inescapable reality that you have to build a mobile-optimized experience for your incentive program participants. In fact, 57% of mobile users (which is basically 57% of earth) say they won’t recommend a business if they have a poorly designed mobile site. Ouch!

Let’s look at some more stats in case you’re not already convinced:

68% of all users do research on their smartphones. That includes researching your business and what you have to offer. Of that 68%, 35% make purchases on their devices.

67% do research on their tablet. Of that, 15% purchase on the device.

To recap - almost everyone on earth has a mobile phone or a smart device. We use them to do everything, including making purchases and research. The Harvard Debate Team couldn’t argue with those facts. If you’re not mobile optimizing your website or any other aspect of your business that’s online – you’re sitting on the bench while everyone else plays the game.
