5 Wedding Invitations Mistakes You Must Avoid

by John Steffen Consultant
Most of us want our custom wedding invitations to be fun and something that our family and friends recall for quite a while; the invitations can likewise be a cause of inconvenience in our set wedding budget if we do any mistake. Listed below are some normal and little errors that we disregard and can eventually end up blowing the wedding budget.

Not getting extra invites printed in the first place

If you arrange extra wedding invitations in the first go, you don’t have to pay an exorbitant amount in the second delivery. Usually after distributing the invites you realize that you are short of 20-30 cards, well this maybe a small number for you but the manufacturers charge a lot for these number cards if they to make them again. There’s no harm in ordering extra cards when you book the order for the first time. The cost could even go up to 4 times than the usual rate.

Careless proof reading

A little spelling glitch can actually spoil the whole wedding invitation, thus editing is an unquestionable requirement before sending it for definite printing.

Choosing big boxes even if your guest list is from different towns

Custom wedding invitation boxes are a feasible option when your guests are from the same town as you! However, one should opt for wedding cards with leaflets and envelope if they have to send it via post as heavy boxes can cost you bomb.

Distributing favors and not considering weather

No matter if you are a chocolate lover and would love that your guests get to taste the same but imagine giving chocolates in the hot summers of May & June, well that will be pointless. Look out for summer wedding favors like green tea and honey, cocktail sun drier fruits etc.

Printing invitations when the wedding is almost there

For good custom wedding invitations your wedding card designer needs time to give you the best outcome. In a perfect world, you should give your designer at least 5 weeks to design, get proof read and print the final design, 4 to 5 weeks to distribute and there should be a minimum gap of 5 to 6 weeks before you distribute the last card. Thus, you need to start the process of getting your invitations ready at least 4 months before the wedding.
