5 Sustainable and Green Hotels in Singapore for Eco-Conscious Traveler

by Kelly White Blogger
Singapore is famous around the world for multiple reasons like its hawker center culture, its chewing gum ban and is rapid growth in multiple aspects in the last few decades. It has always made sure that nature has its place within the concrete jungle. And they emphasize heavily on providing their eco-loving travelers with green accommodations.

There are many eco-friendly hotels in Singapore that do not only make for a memorable stay but are also meaningful as well. Now, I round up hotels in Singapore that have both aesthetic and eco-friendly appeal:

  1. Six Senses Duxton
Six senses Duxton is the first range’s luxury city hotel. It’s known for pushing a rustic and yet polished hospitality experience that mixes the sustainability with wellness. This hotel returns Styrofoam boxes to the supplier to be reused and doesn’t use plastic. And it also has a mineralization machine that produces, treats, purify and bottle its own drinking water that has a zero-carbon footprint.

  2. Hotel Fort Canning
It’s a luxury five-star boutique hotel that’s situated in the picturesque Fort Canning. Hotel Fort Canning has received the Green Mark Gold Plus award from building and construction authority. It has eco-friendly measures including a chlorine-free mineral water swimming pool that’s filtered by using NASA technology. It harvests fresh herbs from its own on-site gardens.

  3. Parkroyal on Pickering
Parkroyal on Pickering is also an eco-friendly dig in Singapore and it has a special verdant veneer that is made up of live plants. These plants are not just for show, and there are gardens that are located on every fourth floor and it helps to absorb the heat and reduce the reliance on a cooling system. In this hotel, the water supply comes from a mix of rainwater source.

  4. Oasia Hotel Downtown
Oasia Hotel Downtown has been featured on design sites and thanks to its eye-catching red façade and their red aluminum red mesh exterior that supports different species of plants that increases the biodiversity in the area. The openness of the design of this hotel also promotes natural cross-ventilation and less reliance on air-conditioning systems.

  5. Lloyd’s Plaza
It is an aesthetic dream, paired with back interiors, minimalist décor and lots of green and the design of this hotel feeds into the establishment’s green concept and places emphasis on the simple delights that nature has to offer. This hotel is with open corridors that help to reduce the electricity consumption and environmental impact and also integrate the natural element of rainfall and sunlight as part of the guest's experience.

If you go to Singapore then choosing to stay in a hotel that promotes sustainability will certainly give you a unique and pleasurable feeling and experience.
