Hot Tub for Simple Relaxation

by Samantha Stewart Canadian writer

Hot tubs are ideal for one or two persons who work a lot and need to de-stress and relieve sore muscles with a soothing hot water massage.

Sitting at a desk during the day job can really get muscles cramped causing neck strain, back pain and a number of ailments related to long periods of sitting without exercise.

Hot tubs not only provide a hydromassage and relieve muscles, but also get the blood flowing again to tight muscle regions. Even a basic spa that won't break the bank has the thereapeutic benefits of hot water massage.

Small hot tubs can be placed almost anywhere although an outdoor location near the rear exit of a home is one of the best places to put the spa to encourage more frequent use.

An easy setup factor which some hot tubs have is plug and play, which means the spa plugs into a standard electrical outlet with a provided cord and doesn't require an electrician. The supplied power cord contains a GFCI which is a necessary safety feature anytime electricity is near water. Bathroom sockets in most homes are required by code to have a built in GFCI and the spa is no exception and comes complete with this safety device. So just fill the spa with water and let the spa heat up to the desired temperature.

Once the it is heated, remove the supplied cover and let the hydromassage begin. Some hot tubs such as the Hot Tub Outpost are deep enough to sit in with shoulders completely covered. Especially when using the spa outdoors, this is preferred to shallower spas like tubs where shoulders may be exposed to cold air.

Spas are actually hot tubs and not bath tubs at all, so they keep the water heated and ready for a hot tubbing session anytime. They also do not have bacteria building up in the pipes because it circulate and filter the water regularly.

A cover helps keep the spa water warm when not in use. The hard cover option is best for outdoors as some spas come with a soft, flexible cover. A sanitizer such as bromine or chlorine is used to keep the water free of bacteria. The water can be changed every 2-3 months in the smaller spas with the automatic filtration cycle taking care of water filtering and cleaning duty.

For example, the Dream Star spa model at Hottuboutpost.com has enough hydromassage jets for a great relaxing hot tub session for one or two people. Although a hot tub is not really a party spa (party for one!), it provides the necessary quiet time, relaxation and relieves stress and muscle tension. Two persons can use it at the same time for a cozy experience.
