There are two times New Year is celebrated by Indians one is
accordingly to the Gregorian calendar also called western calendar and
another according to Hindu calendar.
India is such a country where people celebrate most number of feasts
and festivals in world, a country where people respect of every religion
and their fiestas.
Accordingly of Gregorian calendar, New Year is celebrated on 1st of
January when a new year begins after completed of 28-31 containing
twelve months as in same order of Gregorian calendar followed by
most number of countries.
There are lots of occasions celebrated in India at people give love,
wishes to each other and promise to make an unbroken bond between
their relations. New Year is one of the distinctive feats of Indians
celebrated it by hug to each other, providing gifts, make resolutions
etc.
Another time New Year or Nav Varsh celebrated according Hindu
calendar created by Lord Brahma, can say seasonable to Gregorian
calendar 14-15 April. It’s celebrated by different states by different
names apropos their languages like Ugadi means beginning of new age
in Karnataka, Rongali Bihu in Assamese, Gudhi Padwa in Maharashtra,
etc. The first month starts by name Chaitra according to Hindu
calendar.
