Manali is nestled in the Himalayas and promises a magical escape to nature. This picturesque town in Himachal Pradesh is a haven of tranquility and beauty. It boasts snow-capped mountains, lush green valleys and a serene atmosphere. Here's what you need to prepare for a visit to Manali. How to Get There By Air : Bhuntar Airport is located about 50 km away. You can take a taxi, or a bus from there to get to Manali. By road Manali has good connections to major cities such as Delhi, Chandigarh and Shimla. State-run buses and private buses travel regularly between Delhi, Chandigarh and Shimla. By Rail The closest railway station to Manali is Joginder Nagar Railway Station. It's around 165 km away. The most convenient way to get to Manali is by taking a train from Chandigarh, Pathankot or Delhi. When is the best time to visit: Manali enjoys pleasant weather all year round, but it is best to visit between March and June or from September to December. From March to June the weather is perfect for outdoor activities such as trekking, river rafting and paragliding. Enjoy the fall colors and clear skies from September to November. Places to visit: 1. Solang Valley : This valley is known for its stunning views and adventure activities like paragliding and zorbing (during the winter). 2. Rohtang Pass A high mountain pass with stunning views of surrounding peaks and icebergs. The pass is open between May and November. 3. Hadimba Temple A pagoda style temple dedicated to the goddess Hadimba and surrounded by lush cedar forest. 4. Manu Temple Located in Old Manali and dedicated to Sage Manu according to Hindu mythology, who is the creator of humanity. 5. Old Manali A charming area, known for its vibrant markets, cafes and relaxed atmosphere. 6. Beas river: Perfect for picnics and adventures like river rafting.
