Hosting Experiences

There sure are a lot of choices when it comes to web hosting. Under normal circumstances have a wide range of selections is great for competition and keeps services operating at the highest of quality.

The trouble is however that every webhosting company offers an affiliate program to their members. This means nearly every recommendation is polluted by greed and getting honest reviews and opinions is very hard.

Well we have a lot of experience regarding hosting over at the cooperative advertising effort and we are going to do our best to give you a true recommendation.

Currently I have tried GVO hosting, hostgator, byet hosting, site 5 hosting, GDI hosting, adsactly hosting, google business webhosting, yahoo small business hosting, weebly hosting, various ISP hosting, dreamhost webhosting, justfree hostig, and a list of other sites.

If there is something I know and understand its webhosting.

When reviewing webhosts I look at the following information:

  1. Do they offer standard options of ftp, php, sql, and cpanel
  2. What software installers do they offer (ie. wordpress installer, joomla, etc)
  3. What specialty hosting do they offer
  4. What are the mailing restrictions, list size restrictions, and subscriber restrictions
  5. How many domains and subdomains are you allowed
  6. What is the bandwidth and disk space restrictions
  7. How much does extra bandwidth cost

Say No to GVO

Keeping in mind the criteria above, there are really only two webhosts that stick out in mind, that of GVO and that of adsactly. Here is the thing about GVO - the mailing servers have been blocked by more companies on the internet than I care to think about. Countless list builders and websites direct you to use a gmail address and refuse to allow GVO email addresses within their system. GVO is also frequently added to spam blacklisted sites.

As if the email issues are not enough, GVO also has a lot of trouble with facebook. Quite often GVO users have complained because GVO hosted websites, links, and video's return a message from facebook "

The link you are trying to visit has been classified as potentially abusive by Facebook partners. To learn more about staying safe on the internet, visit Facebook’s Security Page. Please also read the Wikipedia articles on malware and phishing."

Adsactly What you need in a webhost

Adsactly however doesn't have this problem and offers more features at a cheaper price! With adsactly you get standard cpanel based webhosting, you get an autoresponder, you get conference room software, you get a url rotator, you get splash page creation tools, you get advertising packages, and the list of features just keeps expanding all the time.

Now if you break down all the features of
Adsactly, you will find the price to be unmatched.

  • Standard cpanel webhosting costs between $3 and $20 a month depending on the host.
  • Most auto responders charge a monthly fee based on how many members you have on your list. This can cost anywhere from a few dollars to several hundred a month.
  • GVO is charging $9 a month for conference room hosting. Other companies charge as much as $50 a month.
  • URL rotators are getting more and more common but still finding one where you can have unlimited rotators organised how you want is fairly rare and such advanced features in a rotator can cost about $10 a month.
  • splash page creation tools are priceless. There are many online some are free and some are paid, but very few allow you to easily create a splash page AND lead capture page all at the same time.

If you are adding up the cost of hosting all these features you will find it can cost between $50 and $150 a month. However using adsactly the cost for ALL these features is under $10!

After much testing and much comparison we came to the conclusion that
adsactly was the only webhosting that would fit the continuous growing needs of the marketers cooperative at the best possible price.
