The fuel systems on today's vehicles are a vast enhancement over the old carburetor systems. They are computer regulated and inject the exact quantity of gas each and every time to provide the best combustion for maximum performance, fuel economy and cleaner air. There countless sensing units located throughout the engine and exhaust that are providing info to the computer system approximately 100 times a 2nd enabling the system to minutely control the fuel. These sensors wear out and need to be changed from time to time. If a drivability problem occurs or the "check engine" light begins we need to plug in a scanner to the vehicle's computer and run a series of tests on the sensing units to test their effectiveness.
