You offer valuable points for consideration Nathaniel.. most of which however I do not send random emails. You have to be subtle and tactical in your approach, you have to have relevancy in content and you should have at least a good google standing and serp result, Quality attracts Quality and then becomes an authority. .

"Alert Them send them an email to alert them to your connection to them and ask for a reference back to your relevant page...if they respond they will reference you on their website, No link farming involved."
Hi Trev,
Just a quick note about the above, you really have to watch how you contact people these days about asking for a link because if you're simply emailing random people/sites asking for a link it could still end you in trouble with google!
Plus you need to watch what you are asking

many Link Farms where shut down by Google and so natural linking is acceptable...and even powerful in the eyes of google. You want to attract natural relevant links back to your site... here's my secret tip for Marketing Advice users for gathering natural links. Whenever you quote and/or reference another off page site that is genuinely associated with any material on your website, Alert Them send them an email to alert them to your connection to them and ask for a reference back to your relevan

Nice banter you guys. One thing to be said...for newbies starting out tuned in to this Marketing Advice group its a little 'out of orbit' So lets bring it more down to Earth. You will hear Bruce talking about subscribers and people he is in direct contact with and thats all very well where seo really has no value yet that is not what William Clinkscales was indicating to. SEO relates directly to SERP's (search engine results pages) Now all the seo in its correct form can get you noticed but once

I really hope you read my latest forum post and consider what I say in it. I know I am arrogant. I don't take critism well. I admit what you do works. I detest waht you do. My article explains why. You are not most people. You get backlink building. It works for you. I hate it and think it sets you and everyone else back. I have valid reasons for my beliefs. If you read you will know. If not... okay. I don't hate you I hate being challenged when you only know me from a couple posts. Re-add me. :

"SEO within and of itself sets people up for a path of failure and struggle." I take it you're one of these SEO hater who call the death of seo at least once a year? lol Really though, people have been saying seo is dead and so on for years and its still going and working strong for those of us that know how to do quality work!
I guess its the same with your marketing, if you do it right it will work even some of the older tactics, no? And it's the same when it comes to build or rather earning

I will reply to you in another thread, I gave you my exact numbers in private, its easier to say 8000.
Perhaps when I explain much about my method in this other post I make, you will understand I am not clueless at all I am trying to set people on a path for success, and SEO within and of itself sets people up for a path of failure and struggle.
As far as how far my name reaches, I assure you it a lot farther than you have any clue about. I have as a top sale person at verizon. I have partne

"The belief that you need links is absolutely false. Point blank period. Google has been telling people this for years."
"Its LINKS that create spam, not content."
Really? So are you saying that gaining/earning a link on a relevant site is spam? And spamming a page of keywords is not spam? Really dude, quality content and relevant links are both a big part of seo and website survival, so if you can't understand that I feel sorry for you!

>> Sorry Bruce but you seem to know very little about seo if you think simply spamming all your pages with 4.5% of your target keyword is going to rank you!
Nathaniel, I always welcome views and opinions, but you seemed to have missed a big part of what I said. I wouldn't suggest that ever. All I said was keyword density is a part of things. I didn't say "simply do this and magically you rank".... its just one more piece in a puzzle we call SEO.
The belief that you need links is absolutely fal

Sorry Bruce but you seem to know very little about seo if you think simply spamming all your pages with 4.5% of your target keyword is going to rank you! (I thought you keyword density lovers normally say the magic number is 3.5%?)
You need trust and authority to rank for anything competitive and for that you need links because without anyone knowing about your site its not going to be found!
Really you still think bold works is going to help with seo!? Its 2013 not 1996! Get out of your old s

ok so lets press on and talk about the usage of these optional keywords... would you include them throughout your Article or Blog page...would you have a video that could point back to those keywords... or would you create a brand new Article or Blog , or Video using each and every different keyword from the 'drill down' ... the secret answer is yes and no

Exactly its keyword mining - nothing magical about it really except that you are mining a major keyword for a site and using the minor keywords for the content. The concept is incredibly simple but makes oh so much sense.

omg are you serious in your analogy...its no more than a drill down keyword research. bubbles.....well blow me away

Trev, a year ago I would have agreed with you about link juice. These days, not so much. Link juice DOES still work, but its not longer needed. There are easier ways than building links actually and I am slowly coming to accept that.
I have effectively built a blog in the last two months that has been receiving nearly 2000 hits a day from google - without so much as a single backlink.
I am using a method I call keyword trickling.
The concept is really simple and works especially well for b

This is what I hate about these clowns oops! sorry
It is surprising how well you can be placed and indexed with little effort to all of the above... and one of the major factors Bruce is Link Juice. Most of us that have been online for a while understand basic essential SE Optimization skills yet on the other hand Branding and establishing a profile will help to get you ranked more easily by using links..Good thread William marketing can be as simple or complicated as you make it but there are

So nathaniel, you are quick to say what you believe is not seo, however you have not told us what you believe is seo.
So tell me, how does one make a website that does rank well and what does help with seo?
Please understand if the words "backlink", "incoming links", "natural links", or any other such nonsense is in your answer.... I will equally call it rubbish,
Let me now tell you some details about this "rubbish",
Point 1 and 2.... actually they don't make a difference, but at the same
