Content Publishing For Affiliate Marketers
When you look for advice on becoming a successful affiliate marketer one of the most common bits of advice handed out is to have "GOOD CONTENT" on your site.
But what does "good content " mean?
It means this:
A. The Content has to be Related to the Topic
B. The Content has to be Informative & Useful
C. The Content has to be Interesting
D. The Content has to have a Purpose
E. The Content has to be Compelling
The bottom line is this; You are trying to sell something to someone. The question is "Why should they buy from you instead of from someone else"?
Answer that and you are on your way.
If you are selling mousetraps and yours is the best mousetrap then people need to "know" yours is the best.
"Knowing" implies understanding so if you simply say, "This is the best mouse trap!" it doesn't really relay any understanding and so no real knowledge and NO SALES!
You would have to "know" what your potential customers consider to be
the attributes of "the best mouse trap".
For a "stay at home Mom" it may be that what she considers to be the best mouse trap would be a mousetrap that is safe around children, one that is easy to use, one that kills more mice than other traps, one that is hygienic, and it is endorsed by "Stay At Home Mom" Magazine!
Get the picture?
As an affiliate marketer your task is to motivate your potential customer to click the link and go to the sales page for the product or service you are promoting.
The same rules apply; write your content to so that your visitors are compelled to click on the links you have on your pages.
This called by many names; warming up your customer, pre-selling him, establishing rapport etc. Whatever name you use, it is good marketing, good sales and good business.

Hi James,
Great info...and many websites also need to have CURRENT content as well as those you've already named.
It is amazing how many people lose sales simply because they don't update their site. Would you buy a mousetrap from someone with Christmas sales going on in summer or from someone who is very much in the present with his content & his business?
