THE SOURCE OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT This is the month of June, considered to be a very Holy Month, like the month of May. The month of June is crowned with a highly respected event by the Christians, known as the Assumption. Assumption is the going up to Heaven by Jesus Christ, the Son of God, after 40 days from his resurrection day, known as Easter. Easter is a day coupled with Baptism, Confirmation, dedication of children and above all celebration of marriages. This day is honoured by Christians as the day Jesus Christ Resurrected. Resurrection is the coming back to life after dead, of our Saviour Jesus Christ. He was crucified everyone was there to witness his crucifixion, on a cross. He later died and many manifestations were witnessed, by the believers and the unbelievers. His body was lowered when a believer (Joseph from Arimatheas), requested to have it buried in a tomb, instead of letting it get rot on the cross. This was supposed to be the evening of a Friday. A large stone was rolled at the entrance of this tomb, by a number of people. Most probably the army who was sent to make sure the body of Jesus Christ was taken to where it was destined. The large stone was rolled to the entrance, and the tomb was closed. Closed by the men to the men. But opened by God to the women. Before the closure of this tomb, some men were seen around with cloves, bows and arrows, spears and hammers. After the closure, some women were seen with perfume jars. They knew the tomb was closed, but did not wonder for a second who will roll the stone. It is the same spirit, same conviction, same hope, and same ability. They never thought for once, who will fight for us. But their sole conviction was, something positive was about to start happening, and it must be said and done. These ladies met face to face with Jesus Christ, something they never thought would happen. When Jesus saw them, surely he asked in His inner mind, ‘where are the men’. In his disappointment, he told these ladies ‘go and tell them you have seen me that I am alive’.
