A Walk to Delhi's Road!
Yesterday, I went to Delhi, capital of India. Due to some
reason I have to wait at railway station of New Delhi which is known as a
largest railway network in world. I was waiting outside for my friend to pick
up me. In the mean time, I was seeing people driving private vehicles just
alone. Maximum People were doing travelling through private vehicles. In last
few years, no doubt India is on spree wheel of growth but its Infrastructure is
not growing at the pace which matches with people purchasing power of vehicles
which is also not stopping by high rate of petrol and gas. These growing
numbers of vehicle are creating pressure on India's economy growth. Due to this growing numbers, heavy traffic,
lots of noise pollution and air pollution which is enough to make you suffer
from serious diseases which you would realise in coming years.
This heavy traffic not only creates problems for others but
for you as well like in Delhi, lots of parking lots has developed for smother
traffic and avoid chaos. But still these parking lots are far away from desired
destination. If you own a vehicle and still you have to walk to reach at your
office then what is the use of that vehicle. Besides, you waste your lots of
time in traffic, if you would like to reach at office on time then you have to
schedule your timetable one or two hours advance. Now you can observe there is a
complete waste of time and money (petrol prices+ vehicle maintenance).
Now, let's have a look over public transport of the city.
These days Delhi is driven by Metro Rails, which almost connected with every
part of the city. In case, if your location is not connected with Metro then
you choose Auto and other public transport vehicles which are eco-friendly as
CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) used by vehicles. And above all you can communicate
with people during journey, if you love to create network. Here, I am not
condemning to own a vehicle, we can use our vehicle when we suppose to go with
family and use on that route which we know it is not value of money, if we go
by Public transport. This is important concern to use our purchasing power and
resources in Nation's growth not degrading it in long run.

Very interesting comparison for networking. Yes, public transportation is a better place to network and meet others that may be interested in networking.
Traffic is an issue in many cities large and small. Public transportation is a good way to relieve traffic congestion. Here in the US, if you do not live close to a large city, public transportation is not available. Car pooling, sharing a ride to work or to shop, is very common practice.

@ Blackhawk yes, population is the issue but traffic problem is not due to population. Infact , the cause behind this issue is mismatch between people purchasing power and available infrastructure to handle it. Thanks.

@ Teodor Yes Delhi is a huge city and it is not only the problem with Dlehi alone. Here, I am addressing problem of mis-matching of infrastructure growth and growing number of vehicles on road. In a bus 60 people can do journey at a time but in private vehicle just one or maximum four. And this traffic problem is almost in every big cities, we just need to aware about our resources and should utilize in better manner. Thanks.

@ VPSMalhotra Many things you say are absolutely correct, there are so many problems which we yet to address in a proper manner. Regarding Buses which are not run on CNG but Delhi is trying to make necessary for every buses, at least it already happened with Autos. Shelia Dixit, I can't condemn her, as you know the status of politicians. Now, Networking, if you would do journey in private vehicle, alone compare to do journey in public transport, it is always a better Chance to do communication w

I do not know which part of the world you are in but certainly I live in Delhi and am unable to understand the "networking" during journey what happens when you are in Toronto for example in sub way oe sy\treet car or say a TTC or GO bus or on Rail can you net work? There the buses do not run on CNG is it eco friendly? Sheila dixit won the award any thing to match her in the west?

Yes, absolutely right, here I am not pointing to Delhi alone, it is just I was there and this thing I observe. Hope, you will add some suggestion to improve the system. Thanks

Heavy traffic is not an issue for Delhi alone rest of the major metro cities are also there having these kind of problem.
