Just how obscure can these platitudes become? The past, by it's nature, has been and gone and in the absence of time travel cannot be affected. Who, in his right mind, would spend time hoping that his past could be better than it was? Forgiveness is putting aside any ill feeling that might have been caused for you by the actions of others.
