Rural Computer Literacy Project for Teachers and Students

The Saharo Welfare Organization (Regd) seeks support of $10000 from the International Communities  to complete its Rural Education Project (Shikarpur Girls Computer Programmer ) We think this project is very much aligned with Foundations goals and meeting guideline statement. Our organization, established in 2007 and we are Collaborating Partners of Pakistan Medical Association, we are serving rural communities of Sindhi Province of Pakistan with our Health and Educational Projects in different Districts with the technical support of Pakistan Medical Association. SWO is a community based, charitable and a non profit organization, to fulfill the basic needs of the low income category, and establish a prosperous society filled with moral values, dignity and self respect. Poverty alleviation, Early Education, Environment development and conservation. Human Rights, Community Health Care, youth Empowerment, and Rehabilitation of the differently baled are the key components in our mandate. As a non ethnic and a non religious organization we strive to build up peace and co-existence among the communities at national level. Being successful in executing poverty reduction endeavors, Being a national NGO, SAHARO has acquired vast local knowledge and the sensitivity to ensure that our activities benefit those that are targeted as we are in constant interaction with the Government, the private sector, other NGOs and community-based organizations, we have built-up a strong network and local as well as international support. The project for which we request funds will make a difference in the lives of  Students and Teachers of Shikarpur Sindh( Rural ).  The goal of Computer Education Programmer is to provide intensive Computer training to Students School Teachers and to establish through the applications of Computers and new skill sets , processes for efficient management of School administration that, in turn through the maintenance of accurate school metrics will enable Schools to be more efficient and offer more opportunities to Students. Training for students will encompass basis computer usage skills in a manner that is fun and engaging. Using computers productively and responsibly through training through productivity software and creative applications will be the main focus of the initial lessons. Access to the Internet will provide students and teachers with the advantages that other urban arrears enjoy including access to up-to-date information, online communities and exposure to new ideas, art and information, resources that may not be currently available to them. This project will be the first of its kind in Shikarpur Sindh. The duration of this whole project will be two years.  The total cost will occur on this project is estimated US dollars 13000.
