At food microconsulting we take career management seriously. We consider that leaving your career in your employer’s hands is probably not the best way to optimise it. We are not talking about remuneration only. We know that most career moves proposed by a company are first to the company’s benefit rather than the employee’s. It is fair if it suits you. If it does not, you need to do something about it. We also know that there can be some environments more suited to one’s personality than others. There is a natural tendency for an employee (even at a high level of responsibility) to see one’s working environment as the “norm”. It can be misleading. If your company’s culture (or the relationship you have with your hierarchy or colleagues) does not suit you, you should do something about it.
