David Brackett obtained his MFA in fabrics, with honors, in 1990 from the University of Kansas. He participated in the University of Michigan from 1979 to 1985, where he researched weaving as well as material design, as well as fine art history. Brace has a bachelor in zoology from the University of Michigan (1977).
