David Brackett obtained his MFA in textiles, with honors, in 1990 from the University of Kansas. He participated in the University of Michigan from 1979 to 1985, where he studied interweaving as well as textile style, and fine art history. Bracket has a bachelor in zoology from the University of Michigan (1977).
