The first stretch is a shoulder push down. We want to stretch the trapezius muscles, which are the muscles that shrug the shoulders. Place one hand on the opposite shoulder and press downward and hold. Meanwhile, you will look in the opposite of the pressed shoulder and point your nose downward toward the floor. That way you can get a great stretch in those tense shrug muscles.
The second stretch is a thumb slide. Begin at the base of the skull where the neck meets the back of the head. Poke in with your thumbs and then with heavy pressure glide the thumbs slowly down the backside of the neck along the tight muscles that follow side of right and left of the spine.
Repeat the stretches twice, and it only takes about one to two minutes.
