The discussion is interesting. I observed same that l received more clicks from twitter, however conversion to sales is what l am still following.

@Fred Chau, just checked out your website, interesting. I am currently in the caribbean and I know that China has a great deal of influence here regarding wholesale. What is your twitter username ? also are you using Facebook?
@marketclick, I agree that conversion seems more difficult on twitter. I have a twitter a have more than 1000 followers, but receive no sign up business.
I think the simple trick is to find an audience who are not doing the same as you. Perhaps have more than 1 Twitter account; an account that attempts to engage with everyday people and one for business. Bear in mind its quite typical to receive only 1 sign up for a 1000 clicks...
@marketclick , I guess it depends on what you need them to do for a conversion. I do post a few sponsored tweets (twits?) but my real goal is actual signups to the other things I tweet. And those so far have totally eluded me. Even when people say they are going to they never seem to do it. But in all fairness to twitter, I am getting the same results here, so maybe I am just a crappy marketer?
Is there one? I try and try but can't get anyone interested in doing anything but posting sponsored links. More and more I am seeing twitter as a waste of time

Interesting... I find Twitter to be very useful. In fact I tend to get a higher click rate from using Twitter than most other social media sites
