I have found advertising on FaceBook a mixed bag.......

Do people care to see advertisements when they use FaceBook? I asked my family members and they all said they don't even notice the ads, but I did have a few positive responses during a recent campaign, although no 'fireworks'...! What is your experience and yes, I am quite aware of the fact that I'm asking this in a forum that deals with free advertising... and as a last question, where is the most effective free advertising available?
