When to Profit and When Not to Profit, By A Woman!!
January 24, 2008
Hello,
When to Profit and When Not to Profit, By A Woman!!
This is a very interesting story that really brings the true meaning of understanding who you really are. Windows are opened each and everyday we can all benenfit from certian events that can lead us to making more money then we have every dreamed about, but some people understand when to do it and when not to take advantage of these certain events for their own selfish reason. Why we are all different in more ways then we will ever understand in our entire life span.
During the devastating earthquakes in Kobe, Japan an American newscaster did a short piece on a Japanese woman who set a makeshift store out of boxes selling flashlights and batteries.
When this commentator asked why she wasn't selling these essential items for more then the regular price, the woman answered, "Why would l want to profit from someone else's suffering?"
When was the last time you heard someone doing this, imagine that not taken advantage over an event that could make you very rich for the rest of your life.........God I love this woman for what she did...........

Hi Cheryl,
Yes at times people really do stand out for who they really are. In this case the lady did what she knew was right and put the profit out of her mind...concentrated on helpping her not so fortune people with the basic's so desprately needed to get through that devastation.
I am very sure things of this nature happen more then we actually hear about, but if it's, "Good News"; then it's not good news to promote it, is it...." how the "MEDIA THINKS and HOW THEY SELL MORE PAPERS":

And it did not take the government stepping in to legislate it, she just did the right thing. I went through so many hurricanes in Florida, I'm an Old pro at it. Hurricanes Erin and Opal brought the rats out of the woodwork. People were selling ice for $10-$15 per pound when the normal price was $0.99. Hotels were marking up the price of rooms 100%. Many people during Opal added gas to the list I guess it wouldn't do to complain about gas being $3-$4 per gallon now but then the price of gas

Hi Joe,
I meant good for her, for selling them at the normal price, and not profiteering,
not good for her at making a profit. Could have put it better!
I also agree with Viola.

Hi Jean,
Not so sure it was about making a profit, more about helping her people in need and not aking advantage what has just occured. Most would have worried about x amount of dollars her she was all about helping those that need her service without taking into consideration any profit margins........As Voila said God Bless that lady................l agree!!!

Thanks for sharing that - I am reminded of a saying " What goes around, comes around..."
God bless that lady!

Hope she did very well, and if she bought them wholesale, then she
did make a profit. Good for her.
