Worry about the inside

I want to share a story that my Pastor shared with us this morning. I thought it really shows how we worry about the wrong things. On Valentine's day three men walk into a jewelry store to buy their wives a ring. Each man picks out a beautiful ring for his wife and has the store gift wrap them with pretty little bows on the outside. The first man gets home and gives his wife the package. She squeals with happiness kisses her husband, then puts the gift wrapped package on display in the living room. The second man gets home and gives his wife the package. She tears off the wrapping and sees the name of the jewelry store. She Squeals with happiness kisses her husband and places the ring box on display in the living room. The last man arrives home and gives his gift to his wife. She unwraps the gift and sees the name of the jewelry store. She opens the box to see the beautiful ring inside and asks her husband to place it on her finger. The next day the wives get together for lunch. They are so happy with their gifts that they decide to show them off. The first wife pulls out her gift wrapped box and says "Look at the beautiful gift my husband gave me last night". The second wife says "You should have unwrapped it, look at the box that was wrapped in the paper". They now look at the third wife who has no box but is holding out her hand displaying the expensive diamond ring she had just received "Perhaps you both should have looked a little deeper. When I opened my box this beautiful ring was inside!" The point he was making was that we get hung up on the outside trappings rather than looking for the jewels inside.
