It has been said that your Gut is your second brain - You may laugh at this, but studies have shown that our brain & gut are connected through neurons. In fact the studies have concluded that what we eat affects how we feel - our mood swings, whether we are happy, excited, depressed, energetic, etc.... It's no wonder that kids who consume sugar are running circles around us! There is still a lot to be discovered when it comes to the brain and food connections, but it becomes rather obvious that what we consume will impact our complete health. Typically, medical doctors will only rely on pills as solutions to our conditions. We have all relied on common health standards so much that finding natural ways to solve our conditions seems so far fetched.... What if we took the initiative to research alternatives solutions, considered consuming real foods that have healing properties, and avoided running to the common doctor for our "fix". Here's something I learned not too long ago and decided to test out. It's all about Garlic. Don't laugh - garlic has been known to have some very good healing properties! Not just for keeping away the vampires, evil spirits, or that nasty friend. Garlic contains an ingredient called Allicin - And is known as an anti-biotic, anti-viral, immune booster, which also reduces blood pressure, fights diseases, and detoxifies your body. But it's important to understand that the garlic must be consumed raw. You just chop up the garlic to release the Allicin but don't cook it! When you cook garlic you actually destroy the Allicin. How do I know it works? Several months ago I had a bad cold that ended up with a terrible cough in my chest. I was tired of taking over the counter medicine that just wasn't working. So instead of did a little research, found out about the garlic and decided to test it out. Within a couple of days, my cough cleared up and my issues were resolved. But don't take my word for it, look up the healing powers of garlic on the internet and test it out yourself. What we eat does have a factor on our health and just learning about garlic and then testing it out.... Confirmed my belief - that we can take control of our health by becoming proactive in learning how to heal our bodies instead of relying on the "quick fix" pill which does not address the underlying issue. Your gut is your second brain and will let you know the truth.
