Remembering someone’s birthday or your wedding date is not a problem when you are young. But as the person ages, remembering little things in life may become a bit problematic. This is especially true for the aged ones who develop cognitive impairment and decline, and as a result, start losing their memory. As a result of fairly common condition called mild cognitive impairment (MCI), the person starts to lose his or her thinking and memory skills. But the person is still able to conduct daily activities. MCI is a common phenomenon in the older ones suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Such individuals seem to lose their grip on their memories and are even unable to answer simplest questions such as what is their favourite food, how many members do they have in their family and what did they do for a living. However, it is very much possible to avoid cognitive impairment with the help of some simple techniques. This is what a research, conducted by Mayo Clinic researchers, suggest.
