thanks for sharing that Bruce...your revealing the power of a list of people that want to listen to you... but your also saying you did eventually establish a website..and that is your most powerful source of product energy...all traffic should end up on that site after opt-in to any advertising and email list building strategy.
Actually when I began the cooperative I didn't even have a website. I sent an email to 2500 linkedin connections offering them into a private cooperative that would run for 3 months. I sent people directly to a paypal payment link with no page. I had made nearly $3000 before I decided to turn the venture into something more serious and invest in a website.
btw... if your being clever with me Your Website could be any of the Promoters Websites that your opt-ins land on.. so in actual fact yes they never see your own website!
No! Generally campaigning and Advertising with Marketing will lead them back to your website to complete a transaction if anyone purchased thru a buy now squeeze page then your a lucky man...because I certainly wouldn't buy without further knowledge of what i'm buying.
you have to agree with one right visitor to equal one sale, but overall your site may have had many many visitors before that right person arrived. The other aspect is driving only pure pre-qualified targeted traffic to that website and those are more likely to buy. So I agree with Chuck. You could make a $100,000 per year with 100 sales or 5000 sales or more. Quality Product and Qualfied Traffic versus low or high priced product and unqualified traffic. ( trying to sell to the masses)
I agree head on with warren (I seem to agree with him a lot). It takes one visitor to make a sale - its all about where that visitor comes from. I have what I consider a low traffic site - getting under 200 hits a day. I am pulling in over 10k from that site a month. Why? Because the majority of people who visit that site are not just random surfing who found my link in google - rather they are people I have communicated with over skype or linkedin, or apsense. They know well what my site is abo
We do not quantify that way.
We do know however, because of tracking, where the visitor arrived from, how long they stayed and what pages visited.
And the Bank tells us daily how much money is deposited.
The response ratio "visit' to sale varies depending on product.
The higher price the product the better response rate. For instance, one site published last year generated $400,000 in sales (only three contracts) and had few visitor because there is a small market and only people truly interes

@Trev would you believe most of my sales never see my website until after they decide to buy?

Just one, if it's the right one, That's why I do a lot of pre-selling before I ever send them to my website.
