As the subject states: be careful when using your links directly as you receive them from the company whose product you will be promoting. If you use it as is there is a possibility of it being "hijacked" , stolen or hacked ie you will not get the commission when a sale is made. You also need to test  your link to see if it is functioning correctly. I had an incident where purchases were made using my link ,yet the commission never reflected, I had a battle proving it. Use a link cloaker or link shortener tool, there is one in apsense, to disguise your links.Shortening tools are available on the internet such as Bitly. Linkcloakers are also available. I personally use shorteners but mainly a redirect method using the word recommends coupled to my personal name website/URL. For example  http://colinaudie.com/recommends/massmoneymakers is one of them. This method has the actual affiliate link  hidden in a file recommends which is in the public_html file. In the file you place a redirect file with the name you decide for your affiliate product. If you need advice setting this up contact me ,by visiting my website http:// colinaudie.com and leaving a comment. Hope this will help some of you.
