What is Anal Fistula, Types, Treatment
Anal fistula is a short tunnel that connects a hole inside the anal canal to a hole in the epidermis around the anus. Anal fistulas seldom heal on their own, hence surgery is required to repair them. The most common type of surgery is a fistulotomy, followed by a seton technique. Fibrin glue treatment is the only non-surgical treatment option for anal fistulas.
