Thanks for the invitation...
Looks like a lively group! I'm happy to join.
And I wouldn't mind some feedback on the book review I just posted on my blog, if anyone's in the mood... domestikgoddess.com...

Hi Valerie. Don't know about "big time" LOL but the short answer is that I focus on the content, and the advertisers come along right with the readers...
Here's the long(er) answer:
When I started Domestik Goddess, late 2005, it was just to see what all this "blogging" stuff was about. I put on Adsense and signed up with Amazon - figured it couldn't hurt to pick up "pocket money" along the way!
My "real world" work tends to be on long projects on fairly "heavy" topics - I'm an editor/

OK Jen,
You know what all the bloggers want to know.
Just how does one go about getting advertisers and sponsors? And products to review, wow that is big time.

@Graham, thank you so much for the feedback. That's both flattering and helpful to me! I was afraid that that line might be 'over the top'... but I kept coming back to it, when trying to find a way to convey my enthusiasm. It's good to know it came across okay.
@Valerie, that's a very fine question! I've done a few sponsored posts (this book review wasn't one of them, however, although as I mentioned the publisher sent me a review copy). For the most part I run Domestik Goddess very much o

Jen it is obvious you are a pro.
What I want to know and I think others will as well is how do you profit by writing reviews such as this? What is the business plan behind your work?

I got to read your review and I have to say I was most taken with your enthusiasm and obvious passionate delight in both the book and it's contents. I particularly loved the line where you said.
Really, what I want to do with this book is sit down with you and turn the pages together, exclaiming at each clever idea, each luscious photograph... The whole review makes me want to race out and buy the book just so I can look through it for myself even though I am not the least bit

Graham, thanks so much for looking - I posted this request a few days ago, so the book review has bumped off the front page of my blog, I guess.
Here's the direct link, if you have another moment to spare...

I have always found it much harder to review a book (or other item) that I really enjoy -- so easy to sound insincere -- compared to something that can be thoroughly picked apart!
Suppose that's h

Hi Domestika, (if I may be so bold)
Went to your blog, loved the content, but couldn't find the book review to which you referred. Maybe I'm dumb or sumpfink
BTW it would seem dear old Dave has a one track mind and hears nothing but his own thoughts. The only contribution I have ever seen from him is a cut and paste of what you received.
