Difference between high school, secondary school and public school
High Schools:
High School are those who provides education after primary education. Higher education starts after primary education from Class 8th to Class 10th. In high school the basic education is given. It is the basic education for all subjects like Social Science, History, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, English, Hindi Geography, Humanities and Economics etc. A high school student has to manage all subjects together whether he/she is interested in all subjects or not. During high school education, kids gain knowledge of all the fundamentals that you required for further studies.
Secondary Schools:
Secondary Schools are those which provide higher education after completing 10th (High School). In Higher Secondary education, students can go with specialization & can choose subjects which they want. Majorly there are three streams available for students. Arts, Commerce and Science. According to kids choice and career goals, they can choose between streams and study the subjects which they like. Minimum there are 5 subjects in each subject stream which students can choose.
Public Schools:
Public Schools in India are those schools which are meant to provide public education & managed by either government or NGO’s/Trusts. Often the word “Private School” & “Public School” create confusion between people. Most of the time public schools are recognized as private school but in reality private school doesn’t exist in India since the day India got freedom from Britishers.
“The concept of Public Schools in India is created by Britishers. They had the concept of providing education for children of British soldiers who died in action. Later these schools were upgraded to Military schools to augment their requirement of soldiers and after the second world war , they became Public Schools. These schools admitted Indian students after Independence.” - Ref- (R Venkata Ramanan)
