David Brackett got his MFA in fabrics, with honors, in 1990 from the University of Kansas. He participated in the University of Michigan from 1979 to 1985, where he studied interweaving as well as textile design, and also fine art history. Brace has a bachelor in zoology from the University of Michigan (1977).
