Dubai Yoga and Music Festival, Dec 2012 & Yoga Jewellery

The first day of the festival arrived and we set up our table with all our malas and carefully placing flowers to add that extra joy. The whole marketplace was full of interesting stalls, from yoga clothing to people promoting different styles of yoga, spas and retreats. There were beautiful crystal healing, paintings of love, health and fitness websites and then our lovely little mala stand. There were several music artists and excellent Djs who performed every evening and kept the vibe strong and happy throughout the festival. It was the month of August when Nora and I discovered that the first ever Dubai yoga festival was to take place in December 2012. both of us looked at each other, had a quick discussion and decided to give this a go and let Dubai be the first ever yoga festival for Maha Mala as well. We registered, booked tickets, sorted out our stay and voila! Before we knew it, December arrived and we were headed off on a jet plane to Dubai. What an amazing city Dubai is, I had been there before but it was the first time for Nora. As we reached 2 days in advance the first thing we did was hit the beach and soak in as much Vitamin D as we could as Delhi was freezing that period of time. Gearing up for the festival, the first night we had a lovely dinner with the organisers and other vendors and yoga teachers. It was lovely getting to know everyone and in the end we became a small family at the festival. From the first day onward both Nora and I knew this was going to be a fabulous trip no matter what. For the first time Nora and I were directly selling to our customers, so it gave us such a good chance to know what people are really looking for in their malas; Why they want to use it, for japa mala or just to wear for the properties of stones. It was interesting to meet people from so many different nationalities as Dubai is full of foreigners and has a mixture of people like no other city I’ve ever seen. Over all it was so good to be part of something so amazing, promoting peace in one of the most multi-cultural and peaceful cities of the world. Not to miss talking about the amazing Lebenese food we ate. Can’t wait to go back next year for a bigger and better Dubai Yoga and Music festival.
