Friendship Day is celebrated in several countries of the globe but on different days. The United Nations declared 30th July as International Day of Friendship with the purpose to promote friendship between people of different cultures, races, ages, and gender. In India and neighboring countries, the first Sunday of August is observed as Friendship Day. Friends exchange greeting cards, gifts, and friendship bands on this day and acknowledge their friends.
