Rare Antique Silver Plated Brass & Iron Inkstand Inkwells Desk Set c1890 A wonderful and very decorative desk set, I believe English but could be French, I can't make up my mind 100%. Made from silverplate, the underside reveals a solid Iron base, creating a solid and hefty piece. The base is beautifully decorated with intricate filigree work, surrounding roundels each featuring a different portrait. The solid crystal inkwells are topped with hinged lids, with complimentary filigree work, , sealing wax and similar desk-top paraphernalia. Each side has a pair of pen rest cradles within Crystal . A superb, unusual desk-top accessory dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890. Measuring 33cm x 20cm foot to foot.
