Audio Ads on Your Website - Update
I just recieved a mail about this PPP (pay per play) opportunity/business/system (not too sure what it is, to be totally honest.
Anyway, I thought someone in this group might have heard about it. Apparently, you put a piece of code on your site and whenever anyone views that site a 5 second audio ad is played. The ad is linked to the content of your site much like google/adsense ads are.
But you get paid each time the ad is played, so it doesn't matter if people click on it or not. It states that only one ad will be played and for this you get paid 25% of what the advertiser pays. Plus you get 5% of what an advertiser pays to have ads played on the sites of those you refer.
It is free to join (so of course, I signed up, LOL), but I'm just wondering whether it is actually worth putting the code on my sites, (you can put them on any site as long as the TOS allow) so it would be handy for those of us with blogs.
Has anyone heard of it? If so what have you heard? Good or bad. Would be interested to hear before I decide whether or not I want to start actually promoting this. It seems like easy money for doing very little other than having an audio ad instead of a banner / text / popup ad. I guess 5 seconds isn't really very long so it shouldn't put too many people off.Audio AdsJust wanted to update you all on this if you haven't looked at it yet (and those of you who have). Check out the latest information on the PPP blog. I've included the link below.ppp.com/blog
Thanks guys

Hi San,
I did join this concept, mainly because it is least hassle out of many to set up on site.
It is a non invasive audio and it is well run and has a blog that is updated very regularly.
I know they have grown faster than they expected.
I am not sure if you have facebook, but I joined a group there that explains the concept
fully which also a friend of mine Dale Calder runs which has been benefical (he is a no
nonsense kiwi bloke).
Hope this helps.

Bj, it doesn't matter to the website owner whether the ad is heard or not. If the ad is played, you get paid.
Now from an advertiser's point of view that's not good business! I personally never have my speakers turned on, for the very reason I don't like audio (no offence but I think it's the drawling accents that get me!)
But the fact is that a lot of people do listen to them. 5 seconds isn't a long time I guess.
The fact is advertisers pay a lot of money to have their ads played on tv or rad

Hi San,
Personally I have dismissed this particular program as I do not like audio blaring at me when I go to a site.
The concept seems ok but I know I am not in the minority when it comes to audio on sites and the question you have to ask your self is
Is it going to loose you return visitors or not?
Also as I understand it these are pop ups and most people block them so the second question is
Are the ads going to be seen ro should i say heard?

Just wanted to be sure that any of you who took the opportunity to join this business have read the latest news on Charles' blog. Seems like we are too successful folks, lol.
Doors are now closing for more partners and opening up for advertisers. Those of you who joined need to head over to the forum and check out the news.

Hi Anita
I know a lot of people don't like audio but then there are others that do. I guess it's just different strokes for folks. At least with the netaudio ads, they only play for 5 seconds. And yes, I admit, that can seem like an eternity if you don' tlike audio!
But the fact is that 1000's of sites use pop ups, pop unders, audio and video. Advertisers will use whichever avenue works. And with these, you are not reliant on someone having to click something. You get paid because the ad playe

I tend to stay away from things that irritate me (and probably my readers) so I have stayed away from popups, pop-unders, and audio files.
I really dislike audio files that start talking to me as soon as I open a page, especially when I cannot find anywhere to turn it off. I investigated this program, but decided against it.

Hey Brian
the ads are based around you sit'es content. They run pretty much the same as Adsense, except you get paid even if nobody clicks!
Plus the ad only runs for 5 seconds. Now, it may be a turn off for some people but I guess a lot depends on which site you put them and where that site is seen. I know when surfing TE's I keep my speakers turned off because a lot of the sites have a lot of audio on them and I hate it. But with PPP it doesn't matter if someone's speakers are turned off, you

Hi
Do you know if the audio ads are based on your site's content or are they any ad which could be a turn off?

Thought I would update you all on this.
Still no spam postings from the owner so I am sure this is a legit opportunity.
When I checked my account today, I have 4 people under me. Now, as I haven't promoted this yet, and the only place I've mentioned it is here at Apsense, I am pretty sure the sign ups are from Apsene.
so why are you not here telling me what you think? That was the purpose of my post in the first place? It's great that people have joined because that shows others also think

Thanks Mo
Glad to know at least someone else thinks it's a good idea. don't know about the owner. Up till now at least no spam postings from him, fingers crossed it stays that way.
I did google him and came up with nothing to sway me either way. Is that good or bad?
Lorna, I'm deleting your post, because it's not really about the audio ads. Would have messaged you privately, but you're not in my contacts.

back again, I see the business is still in start-up, but the concept is good in my opinion.
I guess it would depend on the integrity and capability of the owners.
Sometimes 'biz ops' like this are used just to build someone's mailing list.
Having said that, I would keep a close watch on it to see how it develops. Remember: "In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, In the experts' there are few!" -- Shunryu Suzuki

San, the person to ask would probably be BJ, but he is pretty busy.
Try asking Eric Smith or Mark Hultgren, they both have a lot of experience.
Meanwhile I am curious, I will go check it out, but I am no 'gooroo'! lol

LOL
Well, thanks for the 'tops' but has anyone actually heard of it and whether it is any good?
Would love to know. I still consider myself a 'newbie' here and find it hard to turn down stuff that is 'free' as you all know!
Tried to find out some stuff about the owner, couldn't find anything to make me feel strongly enough one way or the other.
But then I'm not the most 'techie' person either as you all know, LOL.
Oh well, if anyone hears anything please let me know.
Thanks.
