Unnamed Update — August 20, 2013
Multiple sources confirmed a Google algorithm update. MozCast spiked at 103° F on August 20th, while other sources indicated activity around August 21st. Ranking flux was heavy in the top 3 spots, which matched the first Penguin update, but Google has not confirmed this event.

Being part of the writing space I usually can see when an Google update has just happened because the keywords I am targeting start to fluctuate, some increasing in views while others decline in views. Interestingly there are certain niche topics that are panda and penquin proof which is good. Those targeting really competitive niches are going to have a hard time staying in the top rankings though.
