How do you keep an indoor cat busy?

My cat doesn't tolerate other animals, but we play with her a lot and invent new things regularly to challenge her mind and natural instincts. Some times we don't have the time and she gets bored and asks for attention....we are running out of ideas and would like to hear yours!
