Some Thoughts + Some Promotion

Hello Ganafe & Group,

Ganafe, I decided to check out your group after our brief correspondence. Like I told you in my email response - I personally believe that functional social networks begin with socializing & getting to know people - not sending back door advertisements to all of the people on your friends list - who you don't know, have no idea about and have never spoken to.

To me that is just 'Social Netiquette". Lets say you meet someone on the street, you don't know them - are you going to walk up to them and just start trying to recruit them into your business ?

If you have any intelligence at all, then no - you are at least going to get to know them a little bit .. friendship opens doorways, back door spam closes them. This is at least how I see things.

I don't send back door adverts to everyone on my friend list, I mean if you have to; this is why the groups exist; that is also why the desktop bulletin system exists - for your own personal network - of those who you have personally referred.

Before I would even think about sending someone an advertisement in a personal message, I would at least get to know them a little bit; maybe write to them & ask them what type of things they are involved in - what are they interested in.

People like to feel that you care about them, they don't like to feel like they are just another targeted prospect to potentially make you a few more dollars; even if it might make them some too. I can only speak for myself actually, and this is how I feel.

I know I have posted two different opportunities in the past to multiple groups - I even kinda felt like I was spamming in this manner - maybe it was

The way I see things; you should at least get to know people a little bit before sending them an unsolicited advertisement in a personal message - even in a business social networking environment ..

I guess I am not going to be a successful network marketer with the way I view things; but at least I will know that I haven't intruded into anyones personal space and bothered them.

I am an 'elite' member of Mike Filsaime's Free-Advertising-Blog, this means I can post twice a day in .html, I also receive referral comission from anyone who upgrades to either "Pro" or "Elite".

Free members can post once a week in plain text, and there are 5 levels of free membership; but the referral structure is not multi-tiered. In otherwords, I only receive commission from those who I have directly referred who upgrade.

So far I have had some success in gaining targeted traffic to a few different opportunities - but I mainly just promote my myspace profile on there.

I would suggest that you sign up and take a look at the 'Promotion Tools' section inside - there you will see the various levels and benefits that come with them; depnding on how many referrals you have acquired.

Upgrading to 'pro' or 'elite' is not cheap; but it may be well worth it - to promote keyword specific advertisements. So far I have referred 11 people, but none of them have upgraded.
