Google’s latest algorithm (codename Penguin) update has caused a lot of sites to fall in the search rankings (from Page1 to ???). Their mission is to cut down on the spam, and eliminate the ranking benefits from cheap backlinks. In other words they’re cracking down Black-hat SEO tricks. Ever spent $5 for 10,000 backlinks? Now those same links are probably pointless & as valuable as a $9 bill.
Content is the blood that flows through SEO. Articles educating readers about your industry or service generate the best backlinks if they’re submitted to high PR (PageRank) article directories & blog sites. Google pays more attention to the reputation of the site you’re linking to. They don’t care about how many links you have!
