Deccan Charter join hands with TATA Steel to commence air service

TATA Steel announced the signing of an agreement with Deccan Charters Ltd to start 3 daily charter flights between Jamshedpur and Kolkata.

Deccan Charter?s Ltd is India?s leading General Aviation Services Company offering Aircraft Maintenance, Charter Services and Management.

Deccan?s service will be launched on August 16th 2010, with daily non scheduled flight service, using a 19 seater turbo prop aircraft, between Kolkata and Jamshedpur. This service will put Jamshedpur back on the national air network, by connecting it directly to Kolkata.

The TATA Group will be immensely benefited by Deccan?s charter service by providing improved connectivity to Jamshedpur and will also result in the city embarking on a renewed phase of growth.

Mr H M Nerurkar MD of TATA Steel said that ?TATA Steel is happy to facilitate resumption of air connectivity between Jamshedpur and Kolkata through Deccan Charter. We hope that this service provides our city the necessary economic impetus and helps in linking our citizens with the rest of the country in more effective manner.?
